Why you should visit Burj Khalifa?

Burj Khalifa in Dubai is a marvelous, artistic work of engineering that is also the tallest man-made structure ever built. Standing tall at 828 meters i.e. 2722 feet in Dubai’s Downtown, Burj Khalifa is an emblem of the flourishing Middle East and an unparalleled paradigm of international cooperation. Prior to the inauguration of Burj Khalifa, it was known as Burj Dubai. It was renamed in the honor of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the president of UAE and the ruler of Abu Dhabi as the Abu Dhabi and UAE government provided financial support to Dubai to pay off its debts.

 

Rising benevolently from the deserts and reaching the sky with its enormous height, Burj Khalifa was developed by Emaar Properties PJSC a Dubai based construction firm. Burj Khalifa is an astonishing work of art designed by Adrian Smith of Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), a Chicago-based architecture firm. SOM has also designed the One World Trade Center and Willies Tower, which once held the record of the tallest building in the world.

 

The construction work of this beautiful building commenced on 6th January 2004; and by 1st October 2009, the exterior of the building was complete. The main contractor of Burj Khalifa was Samsung C&T a South Korean Firm and the structural engineer was Bill Baker who is a structural partner of Skidmore Owings & Merill. Emaar Properties PJSC invested a huge sum of US $1.5 Billion to construct the building.

 

In order to match the accession day of the Rule of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the inauguration of this marvelous building was done on 4th January 2010.

 

Burj Khalifa also termed as the Jewel of Dubai is extremely popular amongst the tourists as the observation decks on Level 124, 125 and 148 gives you a chance to experience the mesmerizing view of the Dubai’s Skyline and the city.

At the top, Burj Khalifa Sky is the highest man made observation deck in the world which stands at 555 meters and on level 148 of this building. It offers an unparalleled view of the Dubai Duty and also features a premium lounge where you can enjoy complimentary welcome drink and refreshments. At the top Burj Khalifa located on level 124 and 125 also offers a majestic view of the city. The lobby also showcases the history of Dubai and the evolution of the Jewel of Dubai ‘Burj Khalifa’. Booking of at the top Burj Khalifa tickets in advance is recommended in order to avoid last minute hassles and price surge.

 

Dining @ At.mosphere

 

At.mosphere is a luxury fine dining restaurant located on level 122 of this stunning building. The world’s highest restaurant At.mosphere can accommodate 270 guests and offers a unique dining concept. This restaurant is open for lunch from 12.30 pm to 3 pm and from 7.00 pm to 11.30 pm for dinner. This luxury restaurant emphasizes on healthy and simple cooking and offers prime cuts of beef, seafood, poultry and more. Along with the quality of food, this restaurant also offers an extensive array of beverages.

 

The upscale lounge can accommodate around 130 guests and has a separate section for 35 people. This lounge is open from 12 pm to 2 am and is the perfect place for a romantic lunch or dinner and a perfect halt for a refreshing tea in the afternoon.

The Club: Health and recreational zone

 

Spread over 22,000 square feet ‘The Club’ which occupies 4 stories of the building. Though the priority is given to the residents of the building but it also welcomes the general public. The Club boasts of two gymnasiums out of which one is dedicated for ladies, state of the art spa and two luxurious swimming pools where one is indoor and the other one on the rooftop.

 

The Lounge

 

Located on level 152, 153 and 154, Burj Khalifa boasts of world’s highest lounge standing at 585 meters. You can enjoy some of the best tea and coffee along with freshly baked breads and mouthwatering desserts. You can also enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset while sitting on the plush couches. The experience of having cocktails under the sky is one of its kind experiences. You can groove to the tunes of the house DJ and enjoy the gourmet canapés complemented with house beverages. The entry fee starts from AED 600 and prior reservation is compulsory.
