Baggage allowance:

Fly Dubai offers a decent baggage allowance both to its economy class and business class passengers. Regarding hand baggage, economy class passengers can carry 1 baggage that can weigh up to 7 kg with them in the flight. In addition to that, they can also carry a small handbag, purse or laptop bags but total weight of cabin bag and handbag must not exceed 7 kg. However, business class passengers can carry up to 2 bags weighing a total of 14 kg maximum.

The size of each item in both economy and business class should not be more than 55 x 38 x 20cm so that it can be stored in the overhead locker. If your bag is bigger than the prescribed size, then it must go in the checked baggage. If you are travelling with an infant, you are allowed to carry up to 10 kg check-in baggage, and 5kg hand baggage.

As far as checked baggage is concerned, economy class passengers can carry 3 pieces that should not exceed the total weight of 20 kg. For extra luggage weight, you will need to pay as per the rules at the time of journey. In business class also, 3 pieces of bags are allowed, but their total weight is allowed up to 40 kg.  Each bag must be less than 32 kg and not bigger than 75 cm x 55 cm x 35 cm.

In case of delayed, damaged or lost baggage

  • If your baggage is delayed, you are required to inform the airline. They will allow you a handling agent who will help you reach your bag at the earliest.
  • If your bag is found within 5 days, the handling agent will get it delivered to you, but if it takes more than that, Fly Dubai services will take over the matter. If it is not found in 21 days, it is considered as the lost baggage.
  • You are compensated by the flight with the sum of 50 USD for the delay for 3 days. If your bag is lost, you will be paid as per the set amount.
  • In case of damage, you will be paid by the airline for either replacement or repair. You will be required to make your damage claim within the month of your journey, and send a scanned copy of the damaged report given by handling agent, boarding pass, the photo of the damaged item and bag tag at their email.

Special baggage allowance

  • The bags that are charged with lithium batteries are known as smart bags. These bags have the features of GPS tracking, device charging etc. You can carry them in both hand luggage or checked in luggage, but the batteries must be removed and should not exceed the power of 100 Wh. Special care should be taken while packing them, as they should be protected from short-circuit, auto-activation or any other damage.
  • When you are giving smart bag in check in luggage, you must inform the person at counter.
  • Battery powered wheelchairs can be carried, but only if they are medically prescribed.
  • Here is a list of items that are forbidden to be taken on the flight: Lithium batteries
  • Unauthorized drugs, arms and equipment that can harm others, items that are categorized as illegal in the country, real or toy weapons, animals, all the products powered with lithium batteries should be switched off during the journey. You can’t pack sharp objects, sporting bats and clubs in your hand baggage. You can’t pack e-cigarette in your checked in baggage but can take it in your hand baggage.
